Bolt, Fraser-Pryce clinch golden triple to close Moscow worlds

Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took the third gold at the 2013
IAAF World Championships as they claimed the titles of men's and women's
4x100m relay respectively here Sunday.The men's 4x100m relay was the
last event at the Moscow worlds. With the world record holder Bolt,
Jamaica easily won the gold in 37.36 seconds, breaking the world leading
this year. Counting on this medal, Bolt has already won 8 World
Championships golds, which helped him to equal world golds record held

in 37.56 sec. The sprinters from Britain, who were initially credited

sec.Defending champions the United States made a serious mistake during
the second hand-over, only ended with silver. The bronze went to
Britain, who had finished in 42.87.In the women's javelin throw,
Russia's Maria Abakumova was the competitive favorite and the crowd
favorite for the event. However, in the end she had to settle for bronze
like her husband Dmitri Tarabin."My result today isn't that good, I am
lucky to get a bronze with that throw," Abakumova said. When being asked
about Russian President Vladimir Putin's wish, she said it was a very
pleasant surprise. "For a moment I even thought that it was a
prank."Christina Obergfoll from Germany won a gold medal with 69.05m and
Australia's Kimberly Mickle, who capitalized on Abakumova's lack of
form with a 66.60m PB, good enough to earn her silver.In the women's
800m, defending champion Marya Savinova, who is the crowd favorite had
only just started on her frantic, and ultimately unsuccessful, sprint to
catch Eunice Sum from Kenya. Finally, the Kenyan won gold in 1:57.38,
with Savinova in silver ( 1:57.80) and a hard-charging Brenda Martinez
of the United States in bronze (1:57.91).The men's 1500m gold medal went
to Kenya's Asbel Kiprop with 3: 36.28. Behind him, Daegu bronze
medalist Matthew Centrowitz improved to silver with a 3:36.78; the
surprise of the race was Johan Cronje of South Africa in third with
3:36.83.The men's triple jump was, improbably, tied going in to the last
round, with both French athlete Teddy Tamgho and Cuba's Pedro Pechardo
at 17.68m. The tie would have been decided in Tamgho's favor due to his

but after a series of fouls which saw him very far out in the pit, he
sprung out to 18.04m in the sixth and last round. Behind Tamgho and
Pechardo came Will Claye from the United States with a 17.52m mark.After
competing for nine days, Sunday evening saw the last session of the
2013 IAAF World Championships. The United States failed to lead the gold
medal standings for the first time since the inaugural world
