Lawrence Taylor says Jonathan Martin wouldn't be allowed back in his locker room

Lawrence Taylor doesn’t condone what Richie Incognito did in the explosive bullying case in Miami,Isuzu Auto Parts but he said he would never accept Jonathan Martin back in his locker room because he’s disgusted Martin didn’t stick up for himself and now can’t be trusted.LT was a key figure in the Giants’ locker room at a time when they handled all their issues in-house, so he can’t understand how an NFL player can be bullied by a teammate and then not take care of the issue himself before walking out on the team.“Martin wouldn’t be allowed back in my locker room,” Taylor told the Daily News. “I understand Incognito may be a bad guy, but all that stuff should have stayed in the locker room. I don’t know if I would let Incognito back in the locker room either, but he would be allowed back in my locker room before the other guy would. They are texting each other like two women. I don’t understand that.”LT has never been concerned about being politically correct as he speaks from his heart and from a different era. He had drug issues during and after his career and trouble followed him around. But when it came to football, he always had inflexible standards of what he expected from teammates. “If you are that sensitive and weak-minded,Coach Grade Sunglasses. then find another profession,” he said. “That’s the way I feel about it. This is the NFL. This is football. This is not table tennis. This is not golf. I don’t know how you bully a 350-pound player.”That’s easy for him to say. Taylor can’t relate to what Martin has gone through because from the day he walked in the door with the Giants in 1981, he was a superstar and the toughest guy in the locker room. No teammate would ever have attempted to bully him. It’s astounding the lack of support Martin has received, even from within his own team. So many Dolphins have aligned themselves with Incognito. The locker room has its own culture and rules and Martin is resented for breaking the code and ratting out a popular teammate and not trying to resolve the issue by talking to teammates and coaches rather than going public. But that position overlooks that Martin was the one getting bullied and something obviously prevented him from confronting Incognito,Lululemon Women's Pants confiding in a teammate or going to management. The Dolphins suspended Incognito last Sunday – seven days after Martin left the team after he was insulted when teammates got up from the lunch room table just as he sat down. Apparently, that is a frequent practical joke the Dolphins pull on each other. The suspension came after the Dolphins became aware of a voicemail that Incognito left on Martin’s cell phone in April contained a racial slur and threats to Martin and his mother. “If he’s calling you n----, there’s a whole bunch of black people in the locker room. Call a team meeting,” LT said. “You stand up and ask the coach, ‘I want a few minutes,’ and ask the coaches to leave.” Then you say, ‘I’ve got to get this off my chest.’ That’s when people are going to respect you. At some point, you got to be a man. But it’s a whole other league now from when I played. Now you got to take yourcanada goose jacket women lawyer with you to work. This should have been handled in-house. (Martin) took the dirty laundry out for everybody to see. Everybody is evaluating and investigating unnecessarily.”Taylor said the n-word was tossed around plenty in the Giants’ locker room. “I have a lot of friends on the team who used the word n---. You know where they are going with it,nike shox shoes” he said. “If they used it in a derogatory way, then we got a problem. You don’t have a problem with just Martin, you got a problem with all of us. That’s how you stop that s---.”The Dolphins may not let Incognito back into the locker room and Martin may not want to go back. It will be to Martin’s benefit to resume his career with another team, perhaps in Indianapolis with former Stanford teammates Andrew Luck and Coby Fleener. It could be difficult for Incognito to find a team that wants him.
